The journey to a Master’s degree and a Blended Learning Classroom will be fraught with triumphs and failures. The vision I have is to be a catalyst for disruptive change in my school and district. The Move to Blended Learning will require the support of my colleagues, department, and administrators. My Innovation Proposal, Literature Review, and Implementation Outline. As well as my Learning Manifesto, Growth Mindset Plan, Annotated Bibliography, and Contribution to My Learning and Learning Community documents explain my process for the future. I plan to continue my studies through the ADL program, read and gather publications and resources about Blended Learning and its components, develop resources and lesson plans- including those for professional development- and have the courage to accept failure as a part of the process.
My Innovation Plan will take place over a period of twenty-four to thirty months to develop. I believe that the nature of the high school schedule- the block semester- will pose a problem for data collecting and correlation. The absence of a 180-day school year with the same students will require me to correlate data among students of multiple classes about elements such as Gifted or IEP status, attendance, and discipline. This will require careful data collection, analysis, and communication with the affected parties regularly. Continued searching for programs and resources will prove essential as a baseline for comparison. A list of short-term reading materials can be found in the Annotated Bibliography. This of course is a fluid document that will be constantly evolving.
